I was referred to Dr. Wcislak because I needed a parathyroid gland removed after learning I had an adenoma. I was very dissatisfied with my general endocrinologist, and came in believing I was being forced to have a procedure I didn’t need. I was also scared. The day I met Dr. Wcislak changed my opinion because she literally took her time with me and showed me compassion that I’ve never seen from a doctor before, and I’ve been in healthcare since 2007. She spent almost 90 minutes with me. She did an ultrasound of my parathyroid and thyroid, explained what I was seeing, and answered all of my questions along with my husbands. She went through the details of the surgery, prepared me for what to expect, and gave me her personal contact information for any questions. Currently, I’m a travel nurse, and I was in Arizona for 3 weeks for the holidays. The doctor (and her team) bent over backward to have me in surgery seven days later because I needed to leave for Tennessee in ten days. I met her in the pre op area, she answered all of my questions and helped get me comfortable before the procedure. After the procedure she updated my husband. That night she called me, and did agin two days later. She wrote labs for me to take to TN with me. She even scheduled a FaceTime for my follow up appointments. Seriously, this woman is amazing and if she could be my doctor for everything, I would never look for another doctor again.

Dr. Wcislak was incredibly kind, listened to all of my concerns, and answered all of my questions. No one ever wants to get any kind of cancer diagnosis. My endocrinologist referred me to their office. Once I met with Dr. Wcislak, I felt 100 times calmer. She explained how the thyroidectomy would go and what I could expect, as well as my prognosis. I felt extremely comfortable with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone that needs to see a thyroid surgeon.

I lived with Hashimoto's disease for about 5 years. I experience all of the usual symptoms including several bouts with hive that would last from 8-12 weeks. During that period of time I had developed nodules on my thyroid. Initially they were not a big deal, and all of the biopsy's were negative. However, the nodules began to grow over the past 2 years at an unusually fast pace and the biopsy's came back inconclusive. That is why, in consultation with my endocrinologist and Dr. Wcislak I decided to have my thyroid removed.
Once the decision was made to have the thyroidectomy, Dr. Wcislak was fantastic with walking my wife and I through the entire process from beginning to end. It was extremely helpful for my wife to see the ultrasound of my thyroid and how damaged it was and having Dr. Wcislak walk us through the process from preop to post. Know what to expect was really comforting. She even gave me her personal cell phone and called me both preop and post.
It has been about 6 weeks from surgery, and I feel great. I just had my hormones checked and TSH, T4 and T3 are all in the normal range. Dr. Wcislak and her surgical team were amazing. Vocal cords weren't touched, parathyroid intact and the scaring is near invisible.
I can't believe I am saying this, considering I had a body part removed, but the process was great. Dr. Wcislak did fabulous work and I am grateful.

I am at 5 stars with Dr. Susan Wcislak. She was recommended by my endocrinologist and she is an incredible surgeon. She had explained the process and choices for my thyroidectomy. She was with me every step of the first appointment and till after the surgery. Dr Wcislak had given me a wonderful experience from her office, surgery and the surgery went well! I was very nervous because this was a second round for me and Dr Wcislak has made me feel very comfortable about my whole journey. I recommend five stars! I had parathyroid surgery and was concerned and told her so. At our first meeting she took about an hour and slowly reassured me and answered any questions and no pressure at all. We talked about our dogs, etc. She made me feel comfortable. She has great training but at med school they don't teach people skills which are so important. At surgery she was also reassuring. She called to check on me, too. Besides great training she is what all doctors should be----caring about the patient and not treat us as another surgery. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Wcislak is the greatest doctor ever. I had nodules on my right thyroid and required a partial thyroidectomy. I was very nervous about the procedure. Dr. Wcislak always had the time to answer my questions. The surgery was done without any issues. I have never felt so comfortable seeing/talking to any doctor before. I had a complete thyroidectomy done by Dr Wcislak. From start to finish it went perfectly. I haven't felt this good in two and a half years. So glad I was referred to her by my endocrinologist. Dr. Wcislak made the uncomfortable, comfortable. I was referred to Arizona Thyroid and Parathyroid by my endocrinologist who found a nodule on the right side of my thyroid. From my consultation, to the biopsy, and the decision to proceed with a partial thyroidectomy, Dr. Wcislak was right by my side. I received a suspicious ultra sound and was referred to Dr Wcislak by my naturopath for an expert evaluation and biopsy. After going to her website to read her bio I couldn't wait to meet her. I had a total Thyroidectomy in October with Dr. Wcislak, she was fantastic! She was very through and made sure to answer all questions. I never felt pressured to have surgery but she definitely reassured and eased my concerns the whole time. Dr. Wcislak was ALWAYS available when I did have post op concerns, yes even over the weekend! She regularly checked in to make sure I was doing okay and to discuss my lab results.

Dr. Wcislak is the best! She went above and beyond for me every step of the way. I had a total thyroidectomy and central bilateral neck dissection due to thyroid cancer. She not only did an incredible job with my surgery, but she even called other specialists to help me get seen sooner for some other underlying health issues I have. She has amazing bedside manner and truly cares about her patients. After my surgery the pathology report came back with clear margins and I am cancer free! If you are in need of endocrine surgery, there is no one I would recommend more than her. She is professional, skilled, and compassionate. After being diagnosed with Hyperparathyroidism and Hypercalcemia, I was told I was going to need surgery to remove the adenoma on my parathyroid gland. I was extremely nervous about having the surgery, until I found the most understanding and caring surgeon,
Dr. Wcislak. She made this whole process so much better by explaining to me everything she was going to do. The parathyroidectomy went so smooth. By removing one of my glands, my PTH went down tremendously! My calcium dropped as well but after weeks of taking supplements, I’m at a healthy number. Recovery went pretty well. Just have to make sure you’re taking calcium supplements until your body can produce it fully on its own again. I’m 2 months post-op and my scar has already began to fade. All of my levels are looking amazing. I’m able to have my energy back, no bone pains and way less brain fog. So glad I had such amazing doctors to take care of me and make sure I’m always doing okay. They answered every question I had. I learned so much from this experience and I’m forever grateful for this surgery.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was referred to this practice for a thyroidectomy. Dr. Wcislak and her office staff have been great so far. My first appointment was perfection. I felt like she took the time to answer all my questions. She made me feel more informed and comfortable about having surgery. I was provided all the pre-op information. Dr. W called me the night before surgery to check if I had any other questions. She met with me before the surgery began and the next day before my release from the hospital. She did such a small incision and it looks great so far. (I am getting compliments.) I had my follow-up yesterday and again she answered all questions I had about healing and the pathology report. The practice is very organized and everyone at the office I have interacted with has been great. I highly recommend this practice.

The medical rollercoaster of getting to the discovery and diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism has been a very frustrating and anxious period of time for me. However; the knowledge, expertise, and care I received once connected to my Surgeon and her office, set all of those feelings aside. Dr. Wcislak and her office team took the reins and really made me feel completely comfortable in the entire intervention process. I say it this way because Dr. Wcislak was very attentive to listening to my concerns, needs, and wishes and in giving me my options within the parameters of what must be done versus what could be done. I was a partner in my care plan design and never felt that I could not reach out and ask a question, ask for clarification, or change my plan. Her office is warm, welcoming and professional, as well as, attentive and complete in meeting my insurance needs and then communicating those to me. Can I just start off by saying Dr. Wcislak is second to none. Her well rounded big picture approach puts you at ease. She sits and explains your options, really giving the patient power through knowledge. She eased my anxiety riddle mind with her amazing bedside manner. You know when you meet her she does what she loves and it shows. Her team at her office are kind,caring, thoughtful, thorough. As soon as I got there, I knew she's the one.Dr. Wcizlak and I decided thyroidectomy was the way to go. Literally 3 weeks later was my surgery. I met with Dr. Wcislak in May 2021 regarding nodules in my thyroid. She performed an ultrasound on my first visit and ordered labs right away.
She confirmed the results of a Fine Needle Biopsy and I had my Thyroidectomy surgery about a month after that first visit.
Her care quality and compassion are amazing. There were no questions left unanswered and she made me feel at ease about the surgery and outcomes. The scar is hardly noticeable and my quality of life has improved greatly.
The communication with the entire staff and Dr. Wcislak have been outstanding.
If you have decided that thyroid surgery is the best option for you I would highly recommend Dr. Wcislak. She has been an awesome health provider and partner for my health.

My wife, Barbara, was referred to Dr. Wcislak as a consequence of having been diagnosed with hyercalcemia and likely parathyroid dysfunction. Dr. Wcislak made extensive evaluations of Barbara's condition and conducted several very insightful consultations with us concerning them. When I first came to Dr. Wcislak for a consultation, I knew immediately that I was in the right hands. She and her staff exhibited the utmost professionalism and care at every visit. Dr. Wcislak answered all the questions I had about my diagnosis, and provided me with every possible treatment option available. After making sure I was fully informed and comfortable with my options, we decided a full thyroidectomy was the right course of treatment to take. Due to her outstanding working relationship with several valley hospitals, I was on the surgery schedule in less than 2 weeks time. Dr. Wcislak even took the time to call me personally the night before surgery to put any last minute concerns or questions I had at bay. The surgery itself was brief, it required one night stay in the hospital, and recovery was fairly speedy. The incision cite was minimal in size, blended in almost unnoticeably with my necklines, and the scar has healed exceptionally well.
I would highly recommend Dr. Wcislak and her staff to anyone in need of their services.

It is no surprise to me that Dr. Susan Wcislak has five stars across-the-board! She is by far the best Dr I have ever encountered! Very patient! You can feel that she sincerely cares about your symptoms even if it turns out that she isn’t the doctor that can help. She ordered necessary labs when no other doctor would and then continued to go above and beyond by accommodating my requests as well. I haven’t ever had a doctor ask me “do you have any more questions or concerns?” and genuinely want to know and proceed to answer each question with patience being sure I understood.

I have antibodies in Hashimoto’s and Graves Disease. I constantly fluctuated between high levels and low levels of TSH / antibodies, leaving me feeling frustrated and misheard. I incorporated a gluten free diet and personally did not notice any changes other than a constant change in my prescribed medicine. I was referred to Susan Wcislak. After an assessment in her office with an ultrasound and lab work I decided having my thyroid removed would be the best thing for me. Dr. Wcislak goes above and beyond to address questions and concerns before and after surgery. I am now three-months post op after a complete thyroidectomy and feel a weight lifted off my shoulder. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and upbeat with the employees and music they play in office. I definitely would recommend this surgeon!

I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism on a Friday at noon by my doctor. That weekend I did a lot of research and found out that I absolutely had a tumor and the only cure was surgery.
I continued scouring the internet and found AZ Thyroid & Parathyroid, seeing all the positive reviews along with researching Dr. Wcislak and her medical background, I knew she was the surgeon for me!!
I called that Monday morning and had an appointment the next day.
When I arrived to the office the staff was so helpful and compassionate and their office is beautiful.
Dr. Wcislak spent so much time informing me of everything from my diagnosis, pre, during and post surgical procedure and answered any and all questions I had. She even was able to ultrasound my thyroid and parathyroids during my initial visit!
Dr. Wcislak's knowledge and competence in her skill made me feel so confident, any fear I had prior was gone after this initial visit.
Dr. Wcislak made sure I was ok and comfortable the entire time. Week following my surgery Dr. Wcislak continued to call me and check up on how I was doing. My follow up appointment came and once again Dr. Wcislak and her staff where amazing. Thank you all so much!!
